Welcome to St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Ōpōtiki. St. Joseph’s is a vibrant, creative, and welcoming integrated Catholic school for boys and girls from Year 1 to Year 8. I feel truly blessed to lead a school that not only fosters a positive learning environment but also lives out our Catholic values every day.
With a proud history dating back to 1890, St. Joseph’s has been a cornerstone of the Ōpōtiki community for generations. Many of our current families have deep connections to the school, some stretching back to those early years. For a century, the school was staffed by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, and the Mission charism continues to inspire and guide us.
We are proud of the rich cultural diversity within our school whānau. Our tamariki are the heart of everything we do, the reason we teach, learn, and grow together. I am truly humbled to be part of such a special and unique community, surrounded by passionate educators and incredible learners.
St. Joseph’s is a place where staff, the Board of Trustees, parents, caregivers, the parish and children work together openly and cooperatively to fulfil our mission.
